How to create your site in 5 simple steps (web site editor v.1):

  1. Log in the web site editor
  2. Select your template
  3. Edit your text.
  4. Load your images to the page
  5. Save and upload your page

Repeat steps 2-5 to create more pages on your site. The links between the pages will be created automatically and will be named the same as your page titles.

HOW TO SELECT A TEMPLATE:
Selecting your template is the first step after logging in the site editor when creating your new site, once you have chosen your template you can place your text and images. By default template #1 is selected for you automatically. To switch between templates follow these steps:
at the top, right hand side of the screen will be your template selection menu, select the desired template from the drop down options(as seen to your right),
the selected template will appear in the page further down (scroll down to view your new template)

PAGE TITLE:




The title you type in will appear in the gray binding box of your web browser as above

PAGE DESCRIPTION:
Type in a general description of your page.

KEY WORDS:
Type in key words for your site to help search engines locate it. (You will need to register you site with search engines for this option to be useful)

HOW TO EDIT TEXT
:

Once you have selected a template, choose the text part you wish to edit within the page by simply clicking on it with your mouse. A text editing field will then appear in the page editing console. Type in your information in there, and when finished, select the update text button. A message will then appear in red giving you a status report e.g.: your text is now loaded! ; You can edit the text as much as you like. (Scroll down to view your modified template)

HOW TO PLACE YOUR IMAGES ON YOUR WEB PAGE

You can update images on your page by simply clicking with your mouse on the existing image you wish to replace. Then, from within the page editing console, select the browse button to locate the desired new image on your computer (similar process to adding image attachments to your e-mail). Once having an image selected, click on the update image button. After the upload is complete, a message will appear in red giving you a status report e.g.: your image is now loaded !
It is suggested to load images of sizes similar to the demo template image sizes but it is not necessary. If your image file size is big the process may take a while to upload the image. Try to keep image sizes to minimum so your pages load quickly.

SAVING AND UPDATING YOUR PAGES:

The save page action will update the changes you have made to your template on the live site, you may change the content as much as you like and save over it.
It is important to save on a regular basis so you do not loose valuable information.

STARTING A NEW PAGE:

Select the start a new page button then repeat loading text and images finish by saving your page, if you start a new page without saving your last page will be deleted.

HOW THE PAGE LINKS WORK:

The links for your site will be created automatically as soon as you save your page. The links will appear in the menu section of the page.

PAGE PREVIEW:
This function allows you to preview the page you have modified without saving it.

PAGE SELECTION:
Allows you to switch between the pages of your Website whilst in editing mode.

TOOL BOX:
The tool box allows you to select between your pages, save or start a new page.

SITE NAME INDICATION:
This indicates the name of the site you are editing ; e.g.: www.yourname.com

THE PAGE EDITING CONSOLE:
This feature will indicate and prompt you in the various actions you go through. It will display messages (such as : your page has been saved successfully, your text is now loaded, etc. . . .) and help you remember basic action along the way (such as: do not forget to save your pages. . .).

The background of the page editing console is also color-coded. A yellow console indicates a message from the system, and a red console indicates an action that needs to be completed next - eg. upload text or images.
